Nuwa Pen performs best in bright conditions, but it can still work in low light as long as it’s above 3EV (Exposure Value). We’ve done extensive testing to ensure reliable performance in everyday lighting situations. If you’re in a very dark environment, results may vary.
For the nerds 🤓
If you’re curious about what 3EV really means, here’s an Exposure Value (EV) Chart:
EV (Exposure Value) is a measure of available light. Here’s a simple way to think about it:
0-2 EV → Moonlight, candlelight (too dark for Nuwa Pen).
3-5 EV → Dim indoor lighting, a streetlight at night (borderline but usable).
6+ EV → Normal room lighting, cloudy daylight, or brighter (ideal performance).
Nuwa Pen needs at least 3EV, so it won’t work in pitch black but should be fine in most everyday settings.
